thanksgiving.
[i took this last Christmas]
tomorrow is thanksgiving.
a time to reflect and give thanks for those you love and for what God has blessed you with.
so many of us are blessed to have a loving family, a roof over our heads, and our lives. but we take for granted all the things that God has given to us. we dont even take time to actually thank Christ for all He did for us. He saved us from the torment of hell by dying on the cross and resurrecting three days later. He did the impossible . and we dont even take the time of day to thank Him for that.
here is the sad truth.
those who have nothing, literally little or nothing, are more thankful to be alive than those who have everything they ever wanted.
think about it: homeless people, orphans, third world countries, refugees, nursing home patient have something we will NEVER be able to get in a short time, and that is thankfulness.
its time to stop wanting more and more things and its time to start thanking Christ our Lord and Savior for what He has blessed us with.
think about it.

concrete angels.
[taken december 31 2007 of my niece at my house.]
for some reason God is putting on my heart to write about child abuse and the severity of it.
as christians, no, actually as human beings we need to watch for signs of abuse. when you suspect that someone is being abused you need to say something. if you dont no one will and that person whether boy girl, gay straight, child or adult they all have the right to live. they all are special and they all need to know God. they do not need to die from abuse.
its going to be hard but i urge you to watch carefully for those human beings being treated badly.
open your eyes.
do something about it.
help them.
love them.
show Christ to them.
they need you.
Concrete Angel
by Martina McBride
She walks to school with the lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with linen and lace
The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel
Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late
[Repeat Chorus]
A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot
[Repeat Chorus]

baby steps.
[taken monday of last week]
seeing a beautiful baby boy being born reminded me of how much we as christians are still like babies.
as we accept Jesus into our hearts for the first time we become baby christians. once your a baby christian you grow spiritually within your relationship with Christ. but for some of us we dont want to grow. we still want to be spoon fed and are not willing to take that giant step from baby christian to an adult christian. the baby's foot represents our walk with Christ. we have to take baby steps to learn how to walk then from there you learn how to run. thats just like walking with Christ, you just cant get up and run you have to learn to walk and getting into that habbit of wanting to walk faster and then even running with God.
this is my best friends baby. and it took me until he was born to realize that i still have not grown much from a baby christian.
you choose whether you want to grow or still stay a baby christian.
