GOD is in CONTROL!

[taken june 9 2008 on vacation.]

are we blinded by the world and our own selfish desires? and block out who God is and what God has and is going to do?

I am in summer school and taking Christian Doctrine and something just hit me when i was reading "know the truth" by bruce milne.

God is in control.

yes. i know its simple and slightly "cliche" but God totally opened my mind about the presidential race right now.

God already knows who is going to be president. voting is important dont get me wrong. but i hear people say all the time that if a certain candidate become president they are leaving the country.

well if God already knows who is going to be in office next what gives us the right to complain?

we may not like who will be in office but GOD IS IN CONTROL.

God has a plan.

God appointed whomever is going to be office to do what HE wants.

NOTHING is a surprise to HIM NOTHING!

not even 9/11 caught HIM off guard. or lets go back further, the titanic.

God's hand is in all of this.

GOD is a SOVEREIGN GOD.

get on your knees and pray about who God wants you to vote for.

DONT go with your feelings.

GO to GOD about it.

GOD IS IN CONTROL.

if you say you love God and you say that you are a Christian then get in the Word and find out what it is that God is trying to tell you. if those who actually do go out of the country to get away from the next president, that is telling God that HE messed up and that HE made a mistake.

GOD IS PERFECT!

and again GOD IS IN CONTROL!

your not alone...

[this was taken a while back at my house.]

have you ever felt like you couldnt move on in life?

have you ever felt like no one could ever understand what you were going through?

have you ever tried to find answers on your own?

have you ever gone through a time when you thought there is no way out?

have you ever felt as though God turned away on you?

well i have...

i am coming to you taking off the mask i hide behind and tell you that i am not perfect and that i have had plenty of moments where i didnt even think God cared about me...

but thats not true....

i found that out the hard way that after all was said and done then i realized God was right with me...

he NEVER left me...

nor will he ever leave you...

here is one of my favorite songs by point of grace...

you will never walk alone by point of grace

Along life's road
There will be sunshine and rain
Roses and thorns, laughter and pain
And 'cross the miles
You will face mountains so steep
Deserts so long and valleys so deep
Sometimes the Journey's gentle
Sometimes the cold winds blow
But I want you to remember
I want you to know

(Chorus)
(Chorus)
You will never walk alone
As long as you have faith
Jesus will be right beside you all the way
And you may feel you're far from home
But home is where He is
And He'll be there down every road
You will never walk alone

never, no never

The path will wind
And you will find wonders and fears
Labors of love and a few falling tears
Across the years
There will be some twists and turns
Mistakes to make and lessons to learn
Sometimes the journey's gentle
Sometimes the cold winds blow
But I want you to remember wherever you may go

(Repeat Chorus)

Jesus knows your joy, Jesus knows your need
He will go the distance with you faithfully

(Repeat Chorus)

cant go back.

[taken around christmas time...one of the shut-ins my dad and i visit every year.]

lately i have been struggling with growing up. i do not want to grow up, it is very scary to me.

i also dont like change. which probably has to do a lot with not wanting to grow up because everything and everyone will change.

but i was surfing on itunes a few days ago and came across a band called "the weepies" i heard a demo and they sounded great. so i bought their cd.

yesterday i was listening to the first song on the cd and its called "cant go back now".

although the tune was catchy, my mind caught onto the lyrics.

i dont know if it was Gods timing for me to hear that song or if it was just pure luck.

i am going for God on this one.

the title says it all "cant go back now", its true...i cant go back to being a young teen i cant go back to being a child...i have to "walk on".

although life may get hard...we cant stop...we have to keep moving on...and i will be right there with you in troubled times.

"cant go back now"...the weepies

Yesterday, when you were young,
Everything you needed done was done for you.
Now you do it on your own
But you find you're all alone,
What can you do?

You and me walk on
Cause you can't go back now.

You know there will be days when you're so tired that you can't take another step,
The night will have no stars and you'll think you've gone as far as you will ever get

But you and me walk on
Cause you can't go back now
And yeah, yeah, go where you want to go
Be what you want to be,
If you ever turn around, you'll see me.

I can't really say why everybody wishes they were somewhere else
But in the end, the only steps that matter are the ones you take all by yourself

And you and me walk on
Yeah you and me walk on
Cause you can't go back now
Walk on, walk on, walk on
You can't go back now

lack of love kills.

[taken march 27 2008 of my nephew.]

poverty kills.

aids kill.

malaria kills.

abortion kills.

cancer kills.

diabetes kill.

pneumonia kills.

heart disease kills.

malnutrition kills.

depression kills.

drugs kill.

alcohol kills.

mental illnesses kill.

people kill.

lack of love kills.

what is the similarity in all of these?

they kill.

well what about the difference?

some can be medically cured. others cant.

well?

the point i am making is that one cannot be cured by medical help.

many children, teenagers, and adults die from lack of love.

whether through abuse, neglect, or loneliness.

this is not something that medicine can cure. only we can.

maybe if we take a moment and take a look around us, we could see strangers and even those we love suffering from lack of love.

well what if we take it to another step. what if we actually go up and talk to that person who is walking alone, or sitting by his or herself, or crying? maybe we could be that person who gives them hope for tomorrow, we may also save their life.

could we try and take lack of love out of those things that kill?

i am sick and tired of seeing this up there with diseases.

will you help in making some ones day brighter?

are you willing to put yourself in a vulnerable situation?

i am.

so lets get out of our self centered world and step out into the real world.

really ask yourself this question...

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

think about it

F.Y.I.!

light a candle.

[taken march 27 2008.]

this is something that will not get out of my mind even though i try really hard to make it go away.

i dont really like listening to christmas music any time before christmas season but a song kept popping in my head every time i would look at this photo.

the song is called "light a candle" by avalon.

just read the lyrics and contemplate on what it means because i am not going to say what it means this time because i really want you to think for yourself and get an understanding of what is written with what is taken.

light a candle by avalon

light a candle
for the old man who sits staring
at a frosty windowpane

light a candle
for the woman who is lonely
and every Christmas is the same

for the children who need more then presents can bring

light a candle
light the dark
light the world
light a heart or two
light a candle for me
I'll light a candle for you

light a candle
for the homeless and the hungry
and little shelter from the cold

light a candle
for the broken and forgotten
may the season warm the soul

can we open our hearts to shine through the dark

light a candle
light the dark
light the world
light a heart or two
light a candle for me
I'll light a candle for you

and in this special time of year
may peace on earth surround the sphere
and teach us that there's a better way to live
every (every) thing that burns
we must somehow learn
that loves the greatest gift
that we could ever give.....

light a candle
light the dark
(light the world)
light the world
light a heart or two
light a candle for me
i'll light a candle for you (I will)
light a candle (oh, I will)
light the dark ( because everybody needs a light)
light the world (ohhh)
light a heart or two
light a candle for me (you know I will)
I'll light a candle for you(you can light a candle)
light candle for me
I'll light a candle for you
(i will)
light a
light a candle for me
I'll light a candle for you

if you have any problems with what i am doing please let me know.

the second change that may come would be bringing more of my life into the blog so you the audience can get a closer look at who i am.

again if you have a problem with that please let me know.

i hope these changes will be for the better.

we just have to keep in mind that God is in control of this blog.

concrete angels.

[taken december 31 2007 of my niece at my house.]

for some reason God is putting on my heart to write about child abuse and the severity of it.

as christians, no, actually as human beings we need to watch for signs of abuse. when you suspect that someone is being abused you need to say something. if you dont no one will and that person whether boy girl, gay straight, child or adult they all have the right to live. they all are special and they all need to know God. they do not need to die from abuse.

its going to be hard but i urge you to watch carefully for those human beings being treated badly.

open your eyes.

do something about it.

help them.

love them.

show Christ to them.

they need you.

Concrete Angel
by Martina McBride

She walks to school with the lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with linen and lace

The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born

Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel

Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late

[Repeat Chorus]

A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot

[Repeat Chorus]

back the basics of GOD.

[taken at january 1,2008 at my house.]

i am tired of this generation.

you want to know why?

i will tell you why.

because when i was a child things were so simple. go outside and play only go in to eat then go right back outside.

the children of today stay inside play their "wii" go outside to get something out of the car then back inside to play video games that do nothing for them.

same with the christian life.

i am sick and tired of this generations view on christianity.

oh wait, the reason why i dont like it is because no one cares about other peoples salvation. they would rather watch church on television than get off their behinds and go to church and get involved.

when i was a child i went to church i was involved i was striving to know God.

but i dont see that much anymore. i dont see people striving to be like Christ.

what happened?

is it because of the "wii" games? internet? cellphones? money? movies? music?

whatever the reason is, God has been put second in your life.

why dont we go back to the times when life was simple and witnessing was so easy?

as the world keeps moving forward and changing God is the same as yesterday today tomorrow and forever.

what will it be?

getting back to the basics of life?

or moving forward with this world?
